Here’s what is new with us this week…
What’s on mom’s mind this week?
In a nutshell, going back to work. I’ve done my best to put it out of my mind and enjoy the time I have left with Chloe, but sadly I can’t ignore the fact that I start work soon. The labels have arrived and the daycare transition begins at the end of the week. I’m sad about leaving her, worried about how it will all work out for her (and me!) and kind of scared that I won’t know how to do my job anymore.
What I’m currently coveting
I saw this toy at our local children’s shoe store and fell in love. It has lots of fun things to investigate on it especially for a standing babe.
What we’re loving
The JJ Cole outdoor blanket is awesome. We take it everywhere these days and it is perfect for summer picnics. I’m actually kind of wondering why I never bought one of these before I had a child. Oh wait, I know. I used to be able to eat out in restaurants 😉
What’s headed to the recycling bin
Any peekaboo type books right now. Basically Chloe just rips the peekaboo covers off the books/tries to eat them. Maybe we’ll revisit when she’s older.
What I read on the Internet this week that was kind of cool
I loved this photo series of a mom capturing her daughters taking on the world. Pure love and celebration.
What Chloe’s eating
Macaroni and cheese with hidden carrot puree inside. I steam and puree 1 cup of carrots. Blend that up with ½ cup of milk and a handful of grated cheddar cheese. Mix with your pasta of choice. We’ve been using rotini.
Books, books and books
That’s not my penguin has lots of different textures to touch which appeals to Chloe at the moment!
Chloe’s jam of the week
Coolkids by Echosmith makes her bounce up and down. Guess she wants to be one of the cool kids? 🙂
Busy moms need quick solutions
Barre3 online workouts are great for those of us low on time to workout. They even have 10 minute workouts which are great when you have a baby who refuses to nap at home.
What to do if you happen to be in Toronto with kids
Head to the Danforth, grab takeout Pizzeria Libretto ($15 lunch special includes starter, pizza and dessert) and have a picnic at Withrow Park. There’s a great children’s playground there as well. Fun for moms and babies!
If my husband and I had a night out this week
I’d be eating the tuna dish at Zee Grill and he’d be having oysters. All washed down with some wine of course.
Rant of the week
Why open a children’s store/business and then make it hard for parents to get inside? Stairs and no automatic door openings make it extremely difficult (especially for those of us with strollers) to get inside!
I have to admit I’m definitely a bit guilty of this. I guess deep down inside we all want to be a bit mysterious.
